To discourage prolonged bombardment on the battle map, only battlements, gateways, and siege engines will be destructible during the actual battle. In the upper campaign map, the player can choose to bombard the walls, possibly creating gaps that can be used once the battle begins. The player can build a variety of different siege engines and place them strategically before the battle begins to target certain sections of the enemy fortifications.
Sieges in Bannerlord are intended to be more strategic than in Warband. Bannerlord, however, includes significant improvements to numerous elements of the game.
